The entrance to Petra is through a narrow canyon or siq about a mile long, which can be traveled on foot or by a horse carriage. As you approach the end of the siq, you see a sliver of Petra’s most iconic monument, the Treasury, peaking between the canyon walls.
Beyond Petra’s famous Treasury, 60 square kilometers of rock-cut tombs and monuments
await exploration.
Spectacular Wadi Rum is good for a few hours off-roading, an overnight in a cushy tent, or several days of hiking.
Unique atmospheric properties make the Dead Sea especially relaxing, and the high mineral content of the sea water and sediment is proven to be therapeutic. Also, it’s plain fun to float on the water like a cork.
