ARRIVE ANY FRIDAY
MAY 21 - AUGUST 13, 2021

FRIDAY – ATHENS
Upon arrival at Athens, you will be met by a Ya’lla Tours USA representative and transferred to your hotel for overnight.

SATURDAY – NAFPLION
Drive the historic coast road to Corinth. On the left, as the Saronic Gulf comes into view, lies the Island of Salamis, scene of the greatest sea battle of ancient times. On the right pass Eluesis and Megara. Make a short stop at the Corinth Canal to view this engineering marvel.  Originally the dream of the Roman emperors Caligula and Nero, the job proved too difficult even with the labor of hundreds of slaves. The project resumed in the 19th century, and between 1881 and 1893 French engineers blasted through 285 feet of sheer rock to complete the canal. Proceed to the beautiful Peloponnese and on to the great Theatre of Epidaurus. Continue to the former capital of Greece, Nafplion. The afternoon is free to explore this charming town. Dinner and overnight in Nafplion.

SUNDAY – OLYMPIA
This morning, drive to the archaeological site of Mycenae, the center of one of Europe's earliest civilizations. According to legend, King Agamemnon led his Greek warriors from Mycenae to engage the Trojans in a war that lasted 10 years. Continue to Olympia, the cradle of the Olympic games. Arrive at your hotel for dinner and overnight.

MONDAY – DELPHI
Visit the archaeological site with the Temple of Zeus, the Temple of Hera, the altar of the Olympic flame, the Stadium and the archaeological Museum. Depart via Patras and cross the Corinthian bay by the new bridge. Pass by the city of Nafpaktos and from there travel along the coastal road to Delphi, known in ancient times as the navel of the world.
Arrive at your hotel for dinner and overnight.

TUESDAY – KALAMBAKA
Visit the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios and the museum. See the city treasuries, the delicate 5th-century statue of the Charioteer and other priceless treasures discovered nearby.
