| Safaga-Luxor
Upon arrival in Safaga, you will be met by our representative and your private Egyptologist tour guide and transferred to Luxor. Visit the West Bank of the Nile and the wondrous Valley of the Kings, a vast city of the dead. Visit several of the richly decorated pharaonic tombs carved deep into the desert rock. Next, visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. This beautiful monument to the only female pharaoh rises out of the desert plain in a series of terraces and merges with the sheer limestone cliffs that surround it.
On the way back to Luxor, stop at the famed Colossi of Memnon, two 66ft, 1 thousand ton statues of Amenhotep III. These colossal statues were known by the ancient Greeks to emit haunting voices at dawn. Though damaged by nature and ancient tourists, the statues are still impressive. Lunch on route. Continue your tour with a visit to Karnak Temple, known as the “Temple of All Temples.” See the obelisks, the sacred lake, and the great hypostyle hall.
Then you will be transferred back to Safaga to rejoin your cruise.
