Patmos
(Tour is approximately 8 hours long.)
You will be met at the port in Patmos by your private guide to begin your tour.
Take a short drive to the village of Chora where the 11th-century Monastery of St. John is situated among gleaming white houses.
Within the high,thick walls is a maze of pebbled courtyards, arcades and lovely, frescoed chapels.
The museum houses a magnificent collection of jeweled chalices, crowns and crosses. In addition, there are old writings dating back as far as 1073, icons and religious paintings including an original El Greco. Lunch en route.
Continue to the Grotto of St. John.
A 17th-century Monastery is built around the cave where St. John lived for two years (95-97AD) and wrote the Apocalypse.
Continue for a scenic drive around the island. At the village of Kambos, stop for refreshments and a traditional local sweet.
Then, you will be transferred back to the port to rejoin your cruise.
