Upon arrival at Amman Queen Alia Airport, you will be met by a Ya'lla Tours USA representative and transferred to your hotel for overnight.
You will be met by your private guide to start your tour. Stop briefly for coffee at a café overlooking the Temple of Hercules and the Citadel. Visit the Roman Theater of Amman and the Citadel. Stroll through the old markets in the downtown area and stop to sample some knafeh, a regional treat, from the famous Habeba Sweets.
Continue to Wadi Rum and our desert camp. Before dinner, take a sunset camel ride for an hour. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Take A 2-hour, 4 X 4 vehicle ride in Wadi Rum, with its awesome moon-like landscape, crisscrossed with countless valleys of stunning beauty. The film Lawrence of Arabia was shot here. Stop at a Bedouin tent for a short break, with Bedouin tea and bread. Continue to Petra for overnight. This morning we will tour the city of Petra. Lost to the world for centuries in the mountains of southern Jordan, this "rose-red city, half as old as time," was discovered by the Swiss explorer Burkhardt in 1812. Once it was a stronghold and capital of the Nabateans, but fell to Rome in 106 AD. Travel part of the way on horseback and the rest on foot through the deep and narrow passages carved millions of years ago by erosion. The Treasury finally appears magnificently in front of you, an awesome start to an unforgettable experience. Now we begin our exploration of what both the Nabateans and Romans left for us to witness. The most adventurous will be invited to hike up to the spiritual "High Place," site of the sacrificial altar, with spectacular views of the ancient city and surroundings. Return to your hotel for overnight.
|
|
Depart Petra to visit Shobak Castle. Then stop at “Bethany Beyond the Jordan,” excavations of the baptism site of Jesus and the place where Elijah ascended to heaven in a chariot of fire. Continue to your Dead Sea hotel for the balance of the day at leisure and overnight.

Enjoy a free day to relax, float in the waters of the Dead Sea or use the facilities of the hotel spa, where you can indulge in the legendary therapeutic secrets of the Dead Sea and soothe your cares away. Overnight at the resort. You will be transferred to Queen Alia International Airport for your departure flight.

Travel Tips
Most of the year, except for the winter months of December through March, is hot and dry.
The winter months can be drizzly, damp and cool; snowing occasionally in Amman and the
mountains. Even the summer evenings may be cool. Aqaba on the Red Sea is usually a few
degrees warmer and sunny throughout the year.
The best time to visit is mid-March to mid-May and mid-September through October.
A valid passport and visa are required for Americans to enter Jordan. Visas can be obtained upon entry unless crossing into Jordan from Israel at the Allenby Bridge border crossing, in which case you must get your visa in advance. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your arrival into Jordan.
Yellow fever certificate is required if you are arriving from an infected area.
Contact health authorities for the latest information.
The language of Jordan is Arabic. English is widely spoken in tourist areas.
Conservative dress is recommended. It is best for both men and women to keep shoulders and legs fairly well covered. Loose, flowing garments in natural fibers (cotton, linen) are ideal for the heat. A sweater is advisable for the cool summer evenings or winter travel. Sun hat, sunglasses and plenty of fluids help to cope with the heat.
The currency of Jordan is the Dinar.
The electric current is 220 volts AC 50 cycle. The wall plugs are the round, two pronged European type; bring an adapter if necessary.
