DAY 1 - ATHENS
Upon arrival in Athens, you will be met by a Ya'lla Tours USA representative and transferred to your hotel for overnight.

DAY 2 - ATHENS
Start the half day tour by ascending to the Acropolis and the full splendor of the 5th century B.C. Athens.
Visit the Propylaia (Gateway), the Temple of Athena Nike (Victory), the Parthenon and the Erechtheum.
Upon descent, pass Mars Hill with the text of Paul's famous sermon inscribed on the rock at its foot. The expansive Agora of Athens, where the ancient philosophers counseled and taught, lies below.
Continue to modern Athens and visit the Parliament and its famous guards, the Plaka area and other sites of this incredible city.
Return to the hotel for overnight.

Florina

DAY 3 - VEROIA
After breakfast, set out for the famous archaeological site of Delphi. Delphi is an ancient town of central Greece near Mount Parnassus, almost 2 hours drive from Athens. Dating to at least the 7th century B.C., it was the seat of a famous oracle of Apollo. You will have a guided tour of the site and museum. Departure from this historical part of the Fokida district and head towards Veroia, the capital of the Imathia district. Stop briefly enroute at the Dion archaeological area, on the tip of Mt Olympus, for sightseeing. Continue to Naoussa. The urban area sits off the road linking Veroia and Skydra. Naoussa is agriculturally famous for its jam products which are sold under the Naoussa brand name. Overnight at your hotel.

DAY 4 - FLORINA
After breakfast, drive to Vergina and visit the archaeological site of Filippos' Palace and Tombs of the Kings. A large quantity of works of art, many in gold, were recovered from the tombs. These included the larnax with the Sun of Vergina on the lid, which Andronikos maintains contained the cremated remains of Philip II (father of Alexander the Great). Continue to Edessa with the beautiful water falls. Edessa is an ancient town of 25,000 inhabitants and the capital of the Pella prefecture and is also the provincial capital of the province of the same name. Next, drive to Florina the capital of the Florina prefecture. It is in a wooded valley about 13 km south of the border with the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. Overnight in Florina.

DAY 5 - KOZANI
After breakfast, set out for the beautiful Prespes lakes. Experience the lakes by traditional boat and learn about the natural ecology of the area. Continue to Kozani capital of Kozani Prefecture. One of the most important aspects of local folklore is Kozani's carnival at the end of the winter, which retains much of the profanity of the ancient Dionysiac cult. The afternoon is at your leisure. Overnight at your hotel.

DAY 6 - TRIKALA
After breakfast, drive to the Meteora area. The Meteora are monasteries built on spectacular natural rock pillars, 300-400m high. They are located in north-eastern Greece, on the edge of the Pindus Mountains and are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Visit one of the many monasteries. Continue to Trikala, capital of the Trikala Prefecture and watermelon capital of Greece. Overnight at your hotel.

DAY 7 - KARDITSA
After breakfast drive to Karditsa and the beautiful Plastira Lake. The Lake Plastira area is known for its spectacular natural beauty. The lake itself is man-made and was built in 1959 by Prime Minister Nikolaos Plastiras for whom the lake and its dam are named. The lake is set at an altitude of about 800 meters in the Agrafa mountain. Covering an area of about 24km2, it is surrounded by natural beauty, beaches, restaurants, hotels and many trails within its vast forest. We will spend the whole day at the lake and the beautiful surroundings where we can, optionally, do a lake kayak, trekking round the lake or MTB. Check in at the hotel which can be either at Plastira Lake or Karditsa town (depending on the weather and availability, lake hotels are usually fully booked during weekends) In the afternoon, drive to Karditsa town which has been inhabited since 9000 BCE. Within the province of Karditsa is the region of the Agrafa high mountains. Karditsa is one of the most bicycle-friendly cities in Greece with an extensive network of bicycle paths. Overnight at your hotel.

Plastira Lake

DAY 8 - ATHENS
Drive back to Athens, about 300 or 350 km away. Lunch en route. Overnight at your hotel.

DAY 9 -
You will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight
